Snowtown is fucking fucked. It’s desperate, bleak, shit. Snowtown is very minimal. It offers no commentary, just presents. Sometimes it elides too much, makes it difficult to understand what’s going on. Maybe that doesn’t matter. The thing that matters most is probably the long, long scene with the bathtub. Or maybe that’s a focus point. It’s another great film that’s hard to watch but you’re going to do it anyways. It takes place mostly in backyards or shitty little suburban houses.
